Welcome to the 2012-13 School Year From the SLCS PTO!
SLCS PTO is a support group for the students, teachers, and parents of St. Louis Charter School. Parent volunteers promote social and extracurricular activities, which will lead to a successful and positive experiences for the students. We want to welcome you and encourage all parents to become involved in SLCS. The best way to become involved is to volunteer or help out in any way you can and you can do this through SLCS PTO.
Becoming involved in the SLCS PTO is fun and it builds a community--teachers and parents unite. SLCS PTO's objective is to provide the school with funds, programs, resources and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every child. To meet this important objective and afford services that are not covered by our school budget, we must hold fundraisers. Thought if may not be our favorite responsibility, it is a necessary one and through the community building which comes along with getting involved, it can actually become a fun part of your experience at SLCS. Some examples of our fundraisers include, Family Nights, Fall Festival, Concession Stands and many more. We also collect Box Tops and Campbell Soup labels. You will find collection areas for these inside the main door for each building. SLCS PTO uses the funds from the later to expand the teachers' resources so our students continue to receive the outstanding education that they need and deserve.
We are a busy group and we need your help as do the children. SLCS PTO and staff always appreciate our parent volunteers. Keep in mind that by volunteering, you will get to enjoy interacting with the kids, become friends with other parents and accomplish things that truly make a difference. Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, time and your talents are truly needed. We will work with you to match your time constraints and interests to the right opportunities to serve. We have many ways in which everyone can contribute and we need your ideas and energy! We look forward to meeting you!
SLCS PTO will send emails and post information on our school bulletin boards. Please include your child's name and teacher/grade when you join SLCS PTO. COME JOIN US!The SLCS Fall Festival will be held Saturday, October 27th from 1-5. PTO would love to have your help to make this event a huge success! Please contact Lisa Simon at lrsieve@yahoo.com if you would like to volunteer to help with one of the fun activities that will be going on. There will be concessions, a bounce house, a pie booth, a dunking booth, games and pony rides! There are so many ways to be a part of this great event--we hope you can join us!
