Welcome to Elementary SchoolKindergarten, First and Second grades are the years that set the tone for your child’s educational experiences. The Primary Team is committed to enhancing the educational foundation of all K-2 students by providing a positive social and academic experience. In doing so, we believe in fostering a valuable relationship with parents, students and the community by establishing a love of learning, utilizing best practices for instruction to ensure student success, and integrating SLCS’ core ethical values of caring, respect and responsibility.Kindergarten is a wonderful experience for our little ones. Kindergarten at SLCS is a full day. We have adopted Project Construct, an approach to teaching that allows students to construct and guide their knowledge through a variety of hands-on and interactive experiences. Students transition to First and Second grade where they continue building necessary skills for their success. Character education is infused daily into our classroom communities. Students especially love class meetings and meeting with their buddies! In grades Third through Fifth, we are committed to make sure that all of our students have the opportunity to achieve academically while "Kickin' It with Character" in the process. At SLCS, we want each and every student to be a part of something special within our school community. Grades 3-5, are an amazing group of teachers who are dedicated to making sure your child's individual needs are being met on a daily basis. |

Fourth Grade4th Grade has many fun, inspiring projects and activities planned for the school year. You can expect to learn every day while having fun challenging yourself to be your best! Fourth Grade is a great year for reviewing past concepts and getting a peek and taste of different topics which will well prepare you for learning in years to come.

In 4th Grade we put our heads together and find collaboration is key! Fifth GradeAs you may know, 5th grade serves as a bridge for middle school and beyond; therefore some of our policies and procedures will mirror the middle school model. Students will be expected to accept responsibility for their actions in all academic and social situations. As the leaders of the Elementary school, our 5th graders really have the chance to display thier maturity and leadership skills in 5th grade. Respect, Responsibility, Caring and FUN!
