Connecting with the Community
At SLCS, we believe that a school must be connected to the community it seeks to serve. To be truly connected to the school, the community needs to be involved in the school in as many ways as possible. In turn, the school must also seek to serve the community in as many ways as possible. OASISShare Your Love of Reading: Become an OASIS Volunteer! The OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program promotes literacy with a proven approach designed to build children's self-esteem and postivie attitudes toward learning while strengthening reading skills. St. Louis Charter School, located at 5279 Fyler Avenue, invites individuals 50 and older to participate in this volunteer program to work with a child at our school one hour per week, during the school day. Training and materials are provided. For more information contact: Janine Edler, 314.645.9600 x237 or jedler@stlcharterschool.org Jane Courter, 314.645.9600 x112 or jcourter@stlcharterschool.org
