SLCS Volunteer Opportunities
OASISShare Your Love of Reading: Become an OASIS Volunteer!The OASIS Intergenerational Tutoring Program promotes literacy with a proven approach designed to build children's self-esteem and postivie attitudes toward learning while strengthening reading skills. St. Louis Charter School, located at 5279 Fyler Avenue, invites individuals 50 and older to participate in this volunteer program to work with a child at our school one hour per week, during the school day. Our library welcomes parent volunteers! The SLCS Library could use your help with various library projects from re-shelving books to sharing great books with students who need a little extra one on one reading time. Please contact our school librarian, Mary George, at extension 105 to volunteer in our library.

Grade Level VolunteersPrimary School teachers need volunteers to help with laminating and cutting for small group activities, to be mystery readers in classrooms, and to go over sight words and sight word phrases with students (flashcards). Parents who are able to volunteer should contact your child's homeroom teacher. Any and all help is appreciated. Additional Volunteer Needs:Misc: Fall Fundraiser delivery, Planners, Office or Lunchroom Help, Copier Service etc...
Fall Festival: grade level help with booths, new ideas, donations, setup and cleanup
Trivia Night: planning, donations, creating baskets, sell raffles or mulligans, setup and cleanup + more
Teacher Appreciation Week: planning, gift bag assembly, lunch setup, room delivery + much more
