A new strain of Swine Flu which affects humans has been recently found. This strain originated in Mexico City but cases have been reported in the U.S. and Canada. Symptoms of flu include fever, headache, muscle aches, runny nose, coughing, sneezing and fatigue.

The spread of swine flu can be contained by frequent hand washing for a minimum of 20 seconds, covering your nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing followed by hand washing, not sharing personal items (including cell phones) that come into contact with a person’s mouth or nose, contacting your doctor if you have flu symptoms and staying home from work or school if you are exhibiting any signs of the flu.

To prevent the spread of flu, please do not send your student to school if he or she is exhibiting the symptoms of flu. To lessen the severity of the illness, report the symptoms to your doctor.
